Spotlight: The digitalization of packaging is about to revolutionize marketing

Denis Conaut, strategic director at Little Buddha France and digital transformation consultant invites you to a series of conferences, the theme of which is “the digitalization of packaging: a new marketing revolution”.

FMCG distributors, producers of cosmetics, hygienic or food products… discover now those new technologies that will significantly affect and modify the conception of customer relationships.

The digitalization of packaging is about to revolutionize marketing.

85% of Decathlon products are already fitted with RFID chips, a mainly logistical technology, which allows the tracking of products along the supply chain. But this technology also allows faster and more accurate inventories, to fight theft, unknown discounts in shops, and to make payment easier.

Contact-less NFC technology prevails as the mobile solution that allows consumers to benefit from contextual information that can improve both the purchase and the product experience (advertising, discounts, expiry date, composition…). In the same way, producers can also gain access to information about their customers such as date of purchase, use, marketing campaigns, loyalty programs …

In a couple of years, the mix of those two technologies RFID-NFC will provide producers with a total traceability of products between the place of production, the place of purchase and the place of consumption, with one single player (your mobile phone) and one single tag.

Before, the main interaction between the customer and a third person regarding the product used to occur directly with the shopkeeper or through after-sales service. Tomorrow, this new perspective will open the possibility for producers to carry on the relationship with their customers even after the purchase.

The first edition will occur Tuesday 3th May at 9:00 am at “Les Ateliers du Bac” in Paris.

A few words about Denis Conaut: After a 15years experience at Unilever, L’Oréal and Kellogg’s where he worked as a Marketing manager, innovation manager Europe and director of sales development France, Denis joined Kalidea, a digital solutions editor, as a commercial director. Later on, in the same group, he becomes Kalidea Pulse’s the Director for France and Spain (a digital advising agency specialized in relational marketing). In 2015, he finally joined Little Buddha’s strategic management team together with Bertrand Massanes and Antonia Ceppi.
