Pablo Gil joins Little Buddha Brand Design

Pablo Gil has recently joined Little Buddha as an Art Director, with the aim of expanding the design team with multidisciplinary talent boasting international experience.

Pablo Martín is in charge of a design team and underpins the creative team in Barcelona.

He studied Graphic Design at the Faculty of Architecture, Design and Urban Planning of the University of Buenos Aires. Pablo began his career in graphic design at the age of 20, while carrying out different editorial design, website, corporate identity and illustration jobs for US clients.

After that, he worked as a designer at the multinational agency DRAFTFCB Buenos Aires, where he collaborated in projects for local and international clients, such as Banco Galicia, Mini Cooper, Cadbury Stani Adams, The Coca-Cola Company and PepsiCo.

Pablo then specialised in packaging and branding, and worked as an independent senior packaging designer and a 3D renderist for brands such as Nesquik, Royal, Frigor, Nescafe, Halls, Oreo and Trident.

In 2014, he joined a Spanish agency, where he specialised in packaging for national and international brands.

Media and Little Buddha: Considered as a reference of innovation and design during Christmas Campaign

We’re glad that we’ve had the privilege of appearing as protagonists on several digital and traditional media during the Christmas pre-campaign.

The first Little Buddha media appearance was on December 14th with Pilar Blázquez in El País with the article “The trompe l’oeil that seduces the client”.

The appearance of Little Buddha in the pre-Christmas season ended with TVE‘s program Emprende 24, in which the creative process of the agency is explained, and how it accompanies our clients to achieve the design that best connects emotionally with its consumers. You can watch the video here.

Xavier Puche joins Little Buddha team as Head of Strategy – Iberia


Little Buddha has incorporated Xavier Puche with the aim of reinforcing the strategy team taking the lead of the Iberian team. Xavier will be responsable for Barcelona, Madrid, and Oporto teams, and will report to Xavier Santigosa, Chief Strategy Director.

 

ESADE Bachelor and MBA alumnus, Xavier has started his professional path in Marketing, as the rest of Little Buddha’s strategy team. After being Brand Manager at Maxxium managing brands like Absolut Vodka, Cointreau and Jaggermeister, Xavier took the plunge and started his path on consulting firms and brand design agencies like COLUMNA COLORS, LANDOR, CB’a DESIGN SOLUTIONS, and worked for 6 years as Client Service Director at COLEMAN CBX and SUMMA.

 

In parallel, Xavier cofounded LANZAME CAPITAL, the first Pledge Fund in Spain for Startup funding, activity he keeps as the founding partner and advisor, parallel to his career in Branding and allows him to have an insider view in the Startup world.

Little Buddha, shortlisted at Anuaria Awards 2017

We’re glad to announce that two projects that we enjoyed working on at our agency were short-listed in Anuaria Awards. These projects are Sonae’s Book of Innovation 2016 in the Book Design category and the naming and corporate identity of Amiette.

Anuaria Awards are considered in Spain as one of the most important Graphic Design awards, which welcomes graphic designers, small, medium and big studios and agencies. The awards are being held since 1994, and they have all the support of many associations and design organisations.

The Jury of the awards is formed exclusively by professional associations representatives, which gather altogether to select the best graphic design work on packaging, POS, corporate identity, advertising, self-promotion, illustration, logotypes, among other categories.

 

The new sugar-free tea in Europe for Marketing News

In this article (originally in spanish) we can find one of our latest projects: Umaicha, a project we enjoyed a lot.

The current awareness of the excessive consumption of sugar and artificial sweeteners, added up to a growing Tea culture in Spain (its consumption grew 13% in 2015) has led Jean Jacque Fredj, ex Orangina Schweppes GM, to launch Umaicha, a new category of product: a atea infused with japanese leaves, with no sugar or artificial sweeteners.

“It’s about innovating and creating in Europe a new category of natural and healthy beverages with no calories, inspired from a type of product well established in Japan”, explains Jean Jacques Fredj, founder of Umai Drinks. “Umaicha is an unsweetened beverage, and also an ‘on-the-go’ product which makes it perfect to have with meals; until today, only mineral water was the only unsweetened beverage”, adds Fredj.

Bertrand Massanes, our Managing Director adds: “The idea was to stand out from soft drinks, and to propose a bigger format that suggest hydration, closer to water”, adds Little Buddha’s founder. “The result is, on one hand, a bottle that that evoques a japanese origin with an attractive aesthetic for the european eye. On the other, A Brand Block designed with a japanese flair, besides pictures of a Teapot and dry tea which evoque great naturalness and educate the consumer on the different types of tea.”

Xavier Santigosa joins Little Buddha team as Chief Strategy Director

Xavi Santigosa has developed his career in Marketing & sales in the FMCG market. After starting in the advertising agencies’ world, (BBDO, Tandem), he joins Sara Lee as Brand Manager for Marcilla. Then, he became Marketing Director, followed by the position of New Business Director at Bimbo, Marketing Director at Carglass… During the course of his career, he has been a consultant for various companies in Marketing and Sales, and mentoring for CEOs, as well.

“Xavier was my mentor in Barcelona Activa. I was inspired by both his strategic and pragmatic way to approach situations and his recommendations, his strategic and comercial vision. Having him challenging our team as the Chief Strategy Director, seems to be a great opportunity for all of us, mentions Bertrand Massanes.

Xavier Santigosa concludes: “Sometimes, your career puts you in front of opportunities that you shouldn’t let go. Contributing to the growth of Little Buddha, which for me at the moment is the brand design agency of reference, , is a challenge that really makes you “step up”.

Dan Ince joins the team as Strategy Director for UK

Leading European Brand Design Agency Little Buddha, based in Barcelona, and present in Cambridge since 2015, announces that Dan Ince has been appointed Strategy Director for Little Buddha UK. Located in Cambridge, Little Buddha UK was successfully launched in 2015 by Cristina Travieso.

Dan Ince is a senior FMCG marketing professional with a 20-year track record of success in developing effective brand strategy and driving growth. He has worked as Head of Marketing level at Associated British Foods, Premier Foods and RHM. This wealth of experience, coupled with collaborative leadership and management style brings a pragmatic, hands-on approach to step-change growth to deliver tangible commercial results. This will provide additional expertise and a new way of enhancing Little Buddha’s client in the UK market.

Dan’s most recent experience includes developing a five-year strategy to refine consumer segmentation and brand positioning while defining portfolio roles for the newly-integrated Jordans and Dorset Cereals. In addition, he has developed consumer segmentation of the UK multicultural market, delivering brand positioning, communications strategy, and NPD pipeline for Patak’s, Rajah and Elephant Atta as well as introducing a FMCG marketing approach at Westmill Foods.

Juan Carlos Zuluaga joins Little Buddha

Juan Carlos Zuluaga joins Little Buddha as Art Director in March 2017.

Publicist by profession, Juan Carlos Zuluaga has over 17 years of experience in the world of design and has developed his career at important agencies in Colombia, Argentina and Spain.

During his wanderings through the world of design, he has received many awards, including the Bronze Latin American FIAP for his work for Mantequilla Alpina, and a Grand Gold Prize and Gran Prix at the Best Awards (Spain) in 2016 for Marqués de Oliva in the Best Packaging Category.

For Zuluaga “the creation of brands and packagings connects people to products. A good packaging builds trust and consistency with a brand. We should always aim for love at first sight, to win hearts without saying a word. I’m highly motivated to take this step forward and be part of Little Buddha, an agency focused on creating exceptional brands”, he adds.
